So to kick out the Rhinovirus (Common cause of common cold) which had invaded ours nose, throat, sinuses and occasionally conjunctives we run to our physicians. However, many times in our daily life’s hustle and bustle we do not seek medical help either due to lack of time or “will get well soon” tendency. Ginger

It is antiviral, expectorant and anti-inflammatory. Ginger tea made up of crushed ginger, lemon juice and honey are the beneficiary. Mixture of Ginger powder, clarified butter, Jaggery all in equal amount, consumed in empty stomach early in the morning, it relieves running nose.

Garlic

Garlic

It’s open ups respiratory passage and have antibacterial-antiviral properties. Crushed garlic-one clove, lemon juice-two teaspoons, honey-one teaspoons, red chili powder or cayenne pepper-half teaspoon. Consume this mixture till the symptoms subside. Chopped garlic-four/five clove, water-one cup, and honey-one teaspoon. Drink twice or thrice times a day.

It is full of nutrients and enzymes that helps in soothing irritated throat. Honey-one teaspoon, lemon-one teaspoon. Take it at regular interval of two hours or just swallow a spoonful of honey.

Spice Tea

It is an Ayurvedic remedy. Dry roast and grind coriander seeds-quarter cup, cumin and fennel seeds-one and a half teaspoon, fenugreek seeds-quarter teaspoon. Add above grind roast, and rock candy (misri)-half teaspoon of boiling water-one cup.

Add milk-two teaspoon. Boil the solution. Strain it, and Sip while it’s hot. Jaggery-two/three teaspoons, crushed ginger-one or two cm’s, Black pepper, Ajwain (carom seeds), turmeric-one fourth teaspoon each (powdered), Basil leaves-three to four, tea powder-as per taste. Add this mixture in water-one and half cup. Boil the mixture till the solution remains one cup, strain it and sip it hot.

Add Ajwain (carom seeds) -one teaspoons or Peppermint essential oil-a few drops in boiling water and inhale the steam. Add VapoRub-one to two teaspoons in hot water and inhale the steam for 10 to 15 minutes. Repeat twice or thrice a day.

It contains nutrients, vitamins, and it is an antioxidant. Boiling chicken with other vegetables relieve cold, especially when the soup is consumed hot.

Eucalyptus Oil

Eucalyptus oil

It is decongestant and have anti-inflammatory properties. Put eucalyptus oil-few drops on a handkerchief and inhale the aroma few times a day or on pillow during sleep.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar

It relieves chest congestion. Add organic, raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar-two teaspoons to cup of a warm water. Mix raw honey-one teaspoon. Drink the solution twice a day.
