5 Ways To Use Mint Leaves To Get Rid Of Acne Scars


Mint leaves are rich sources of vitamins A and C, two nutrients that are essential for fading acne scars. Vitamin C is highly effective in lightening the unsightly dark spots that appear on your skin after the zits heal. It works by blocking an enzyme called tyrosinase, which triggers melanin secretion. Combining mint leaves with holy basil leaves and lemon juice helps in reducing the acne scars fast. Put 10 to 20 mint leaves and equal amount of holy basil leaves in a blender. Blend to make a smooth paste. Pour the mixture on clean cheesecloth and squeeze to extract the juice. Add ½-teaspoon of lemon juice to the mint and basil juice. Apply the mixture to your acne scars twice daily.

3. Mint With Fuller’s Earth And Tomato Juice

Another effective way of using mint for fading acne scars is to combine it with tomato juice and fuller’s earth. Fuller’s earth helps in absorbing the excess oil and impurities from the skin, while tomato juice along with mint lightens the skin. Mix ½-teaspoon of fuller’s earth with ½-teaspoon of tomato juice and equal amount of fresh mint juice. Apply the paste to the scars. Wait for 30 minutes and then rinse.

Raw potato is an excellent source of vitamin C. When combined with mint, it helps in boosting the skin lightening property of the herb. To reduce acne scars, combine fresh mint juice and potato juice in equal proportions and apply the mixture to the affected areas.

Yogurt is a natural exfoliating agent. By promoting exfoliation, it helps in fading the dark spots on your skin. With the help of mortar and pestle crush 10 fresh mint leaves. Add a tablespoon of natural yogurt and ½-teaspoon of dried orange peel powder and make a smooth paste. Gently massage the affected area with the paste for a few seconds. Leave the paste on your acne scars for about 20 to 30 minutes. Rinse with cold water.
