Echinacea is a flowering plant indigenous to North America. In the Native American folk medicines, Echinacea is used as a remedy for cold, cough and flu. The herbal remedy works by strengthening the immune system. Studies have shown that the herb stimulates production of white blood cells, which is a sign of Echinacea’s immune boosting effect. In addition to fighting respiratory infection, the immunity-bolstering effect of Echinacea is beneficial for abscesses, gland swelling, boils and inflammatory conditions.
The easiest way to ingest Echinacea is to take the herb as herbal tea. To strengthen your immune system, take Echinacea tea daily for up to a month. Take a break of one week and then restart taking the Echinacea tea for a month. You can consume one to three cups of Echinacea tea daily.
Here Is How To Make Echinacea Tea To Boost The Immune System.
1. Echinacea Tea:
This is the basic Echinacea tea  recipe made my infusing the herb.
¼ cup of Echinacea flower petals, leaves and roots
1 cup of water
Bring the water to a boil. Put the herb in a teapot and pour the boiling water over it. Steep for five minutes and then strain and sip the tea.
2. Echinacea Root With Astragalus And Elderberries:
This immune-boosting tea combines  Echinacea root with astragalus root and elderberries. All these herbs help in strengthening the body’s ability to fight respiratory infections.
To make the dried herb mixture:
20g chopped dried Echinacea root
25g finely chopped astragalus root
20g dried elderberries
20g dried elderflowers
To make the herbal tea
20 g of the mixture of dried herbs
15g finely chopped fresh ginger root
Pour the water in a pan and add the dried herbs and ginger. Bring the decoction to a boil. Cover the pan with a lid and reduce the heat. Simmer for 10 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat and allow the herbs to infuse for 10 minutes. Strain and drink the tea.
3. Echinacea, Sage And Eucalyptus:
Eucalyptus leaf is known for its antimicrobial  property. It acts as decongestant. Sage leaf helps in decongesting the respiratory system and supports detoxification.
To prepare the mixture of herbs:
Four tablespoons of Echinacea
Two tablespoons sage leaf
Two tablespoons eucalyptus
One tablespoon ginger root
One tablespoon thyme leaf
To prepare the herbal tea
One teaspoon of the combined herbs
One cup boiled water
Steep the herb mixture in boiling water for 15 minutes, strain and sip the herbal tea. If desired sweeten the tea with honey.
4. Echinacea And Boneset:
To strengthen the immune system in  winter, drink tea prepared by blending Echinacea with boneset. Boneset stimulates the immune system and helps in fighting infections.
To prepare the herb mixture:
One tablespoon Echinacea
One tablespoon boneset
One tablespoon peppermint
To prepare the herbal tea:
One teaspoon of the herb mixture
One cup of boiling water
Steep the herb mixture in the boiling water for 5 to 10 minutes. Strain and sip the tea.
5. Echinacea, Pau d’Arco And Burdock Root:
Pau d’arco is a medicinal herb native to  South America that helps in strengthening the immune system. Burdock root is known to help in fighting respiratory infections and promotes health. To support healthy immune function, prepare herbal tea with these herbs.
4 tablespoons pau d’arco
2 tablespoons Echinacea
1 tablespoon burdock root
1 quart water
Combine the herbs. In a pan, pour water and add four to six tablespoons of the herb mixture. Bring the water to a simmer. Cover the pan and simmer for 20 minutes. Remove the pan from the fire and steep the herbs for 20 minutes. Strain and drink the tea.
