Very few people eagerly await summer. And the obvious reason is the all sort of health problems it brings with it. Sunburn is one of the most common problems among many. Many people are even allergic to sun rays and get itchy, red, and inflamed skin soon after exposure to sun rays. Being ignorant, people mostly leave it untreated.

And you don’t even need any other expensive or fancy ingredients. Just take one potato, either blend its pieces to make a paste or extract its juice. You can apply either of them on the affected skin for fast relief from the symptoms of sunburn.

Milk Compress

Using milk compress is the simplest, easiest and the most inexpensive way to treat sunburn at home. Milk is a common kitchen item and is available at home anytime. You just need chilled milk and a cloth to treat your sunburned skin. Milk helps to sooth the skin by controlling the inflammation and irritation. Take half cup of chilled milk in a wide vessel, dip a clean wash cloth into it. Squeeze the extra milk from the cloth and place it on the affected skin. Leave it for few minutes. Once the cloth comes to room temperature, dip it again in the cold milk and place on the skin.

Cornstarch is another item which is commonly found at homes. You don’t need to plan anything to use these remedy. The smooth texture of cornstarch is easily absorbed by the skin and works in many ways to heal the inflammation, redness and itchiness. Take enough amount of cornstarch in a small bowl, according to the affected skin area.

Pour in little water into the bowl, enough to make a paste. Spread the paste gently over the affected skin and leave until you feel some relief from the burning sensation. Then wash off the paste.

You will need the following ingredients to prepare this remedy at home: 1 litre water, 5 green tea bags, 3 cups of fresh mint leaves, cotton pads or soft cloth. Boil water along with tea bags and mint leaves. Strain the liquid and place it over the skin by soaking into cottons balls.

You will need the following ingredients to prepare it: 1 tablespoon witch hazel, teaspoon of aloe vera gel, 2-4 teaspoons cornstarch, 1-2 cups fresh mint leaves, 2 tablespoons clean water.

Take given quantity of water, witch hazel, and aloe vera gel in a bowl. Mix them together and leave it to infuse for 2 hours. Then add chopped mint leaves and cornstarch to the mixture. If the mixture becomes too thick, add more water to achieve the desired quantity. Transfer the cream in an air tight jar and leave it in cool dark place for 24 hours. Store the cream in the refrigerator. Keep it ready before the advent of summer so that it is handy to use during hot summer months.
