Intestinal gas and bloating is usually harmless but can be annoying and sometimes embarrassing too. The major cause of this condition is poor dietary habits and poor digestion. Gas and bloating is a bodily function that occurs to help the release of a byproduct of digestion. When gas does not leave the body through burping or flatulence, it builds up in the digestive tract and leads to bloating. Excessive gas can be uncomfortable and painful. The best way to avoid gas and bloating is to stay away from the foods that cause indigestion and gas like spicy and processed foods, fried foods and refined sugary foods. There are some other foods like Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, onions, broccoli etc. that are said to cause gas and bloating in some people. However, some dietary changes and few home remedies can bring relief from gas and bloating and also aid in digestion.
