Ulcers are quite common among people from across the world. Ulcers are small holes forming in the lining of GI (gastrointestinal) tract. There are basically two types of ulcers – gastric ulcers which form in the stomach and duodenal ulcers which form in the duodenum i.e. in small intestine. Ulcers are often caused by the stomach acids which aid in digestion. The digestive acids form a sore in stomach’s lining as soon as a weakness is spotted. Other common causes of ulcers are bacterial infection by Helicobacter pylori and painkillers like NSAIDs and ibuprofen drugs which damage GI tract’s protective lining. Ulcers can be controlled through strict dieting and here are some foods that aid in healing such ulcers.
