Peanut products sold in the market like raw peanuts, peanut snacks and peanut butter may not be safe for those who cannot tolerate it. The allergy may cause a life-threatening situation that requires emergency medical care. Do not give peanuts to children below three years of age.

Besides peanuts, tree nuts like almonds, walnuts, macadamia nut, pistachios, Brazil nut, pine nut, hazelnut and cashew nuts trigger symptoms of intolerance in people who are allergic to it. Some people have allergy and intolerance to seeds like sesame seeds. Both sesame seeds and sesame oil is used in for cooking purposes. The seed contains some allergens in the form of proteins that resist being processed. There are four allergy causing proteins in sesame seeds. If people who have this allergy take sesame seed oil in their food, it may cause anaphylactic shock. The solution to this problem is using unrefined sesame seed oil that is not processed and has an original flavor and aroma.

5. Soy:

Soy allergy is commonly seen in children. The main cause of this intolerance is giving infants formulas and products to babies that contain soy as an ingredient. Usually, the allergy reduces and resolves by the time a child becomes three years old. However, some children may still have the soy allergy even after this age. There can also be oral allergy symptoms due to which the oral region becomes itchy and swollen. Some people have a runny nose and eyes.


8. Eggs:

Eggs are a good source of protein for non-vegetarian people but it can cause a great distress due to allergy or intolerance in some people. The proteins present in eggs like ovalbumin are responsible for causing an allergic reaction. Read the label before buying eggs from the market. The white portion of eggs causes more allergy than the yellow part. However, one has to avoid the egg completely to keep safe from symptoms of intolerance.


9. Fish:

Non-vegetarian people also love to eat fish and it is an allergy causing food. Edible fish and cod contain allergens like parvalbumin that may develop symptoms of intolerance sometimes. Canned fish is less harmful than fresh fish. Protect yourself from fish allergy by avoiding it.


10. Shellfish:

Apart from the fish, other types of seafood like shellfish, also known as the mollusk and crustaceans seafood causes allergy and intolerance. It includes shellfish varieties like lobsters, crabs, oysters, mussels, clams, prawn, shrimp and scallops. Avoid taking shellfish if you have this allergy.
